Noise from Distributer

I have a ZJ 97 4WD with 123000 miles, I hear a rubbing sound coming out of the distributer, most noticebaly, in the morining start. Is this a CAP and ROTOR replacement job (replaced them almost a year ago), or the Distributor needs a replacement?
No ENGINE LIGHT yet.

Thank you in advance.

There are two possibilities. The inside of the distributor cap has worn out. Or the actual Shaft that spins the distributor has gone bad, and that's what it sounds like. The shaft that fires the distributor also turns the oil pump, so if this shaft is going bad then you could lose your oil pump eventually too. I recommend replacing the shaft, it'll be about $100 retail and you can replace it yourself with a haynes manual.

RedArmy661 thank you for your reply. Since my truck is still covered under the the extended warranty, I had the dealership diagnose and fix the problem. One thing I want to point out though, Chrysler do not sell dist. shaft by itself, they ONLY sell the entire distributer. Thanks again.
