No topics on oil??

The wife's Jeep is crossing the 50K mark and I have been using Valvoline synthetic blend with purulator filter. What is the recommended oil/filter/oil grade for the Inline 6?? Sorry I did use search and got nada... strange, my F150's forum has TONS of it...

Any major brand oil
Any major brand filter
10w-30 for the grade

But the website called “Bob is the oil guy” is the best reference out there for these topics.

This is a holy war usually. . . But Chuck Norris uses Mobil 1 synthetic with a Purolator PurONE filter.

Another good site is: Engine Oil Filter Study

I don't understand the purpose of a synthetic blend? Is that for people who can't make up their mind to do synthetic or dino oil?

Also, being at 50K, start thinking about transmission flush. Another holy war but if you do it, you have to start young.

You don't see any oil topics because these ain't Furrds. The ol 4.0'll run 600K on Crisco.

Seriously, any major brand 10W-30 is fine. As for filters, I'd just stay away from Fram. Puralator and Wix are probably the best.

Mobil1 products all the way around if they made tires and spark plugs I'd use them too. Mobil1 for the win Alex.

I've always liked Valvoline 10W-30 myself. I agree that Fram filters are too overrated. Wix is my preferred filter when I can find it.

What you actually use is not important, but insuring that you change it at specified intervals is.
