No fuel pressure, Fuel Pump? CPS? ECU? Relay?
Hi, I just got a 2000 Jeep grand cherokee that has been sitting for 6 months. The guy said it started fine then, and then he and his wife got a divorce about 6 months ago and it has been sitting since. The engine is not getting any fuel. I am thinking the fuel pump may have gotten gummed up from sitting, but before I drop $200 bones I want to make sure that is it. How can I tell what the reason for it not getting fuel is. I heard it could be the CPS.

I guess a fuel pressure test is in order - check it at the port on the fuel rail, with a pressure gage. Can you hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds, when you first turn on the key? If so, that would rule out the relay. CPS would certainly cause a no-start condition, but let's check fuel pressure first.
