No delay in front wipers-ZJ

Hi and Lo speeds only on front wipers, and washer spray works, but not the 3-swipe delay when washer button is pushed. (blades DO return to stopped position)

Searched here and found several similar issues, and micifus' post on the Wiper Module fix (great pix and instructions!) - tried it but no change. Found a used wiper module on ebay, swapped it today, same results. (Hi/Lo ok - no delay).

Given 2 different modules (BTW - 2nd, ebay-purchased one already had the wire trace solder fix done to it) and same results - could this be the multifunction switch? Has anyone else tried the solder fix but without success? That seems to be the "standard" repair here - so not sure if soldering skills are at fault, or if there's a possible, secondary solution. Don't want to spring for a new MF Switch if not needed - thx.
