Newer overland wood steering wheel into zj?

Hello all.

First I would like to say thanks to the forum for helping me out on a few issues I have encountered. You guys first helped me with my engine knock, which was caused by the plenum gasket, and then, with the crappy shifting, which was caused by the tv cable being out of adjustment. Thank You guys so much, very helpful.

Now, I am thinking about my next upgrade.

I would really like to know if I can put a 99 + overland wood/leather steering wheel into my 97 limited. I am hoping it will work, because I really like the style and feel of the wooden wheel in my fist.

Thanks for the answers in advance.

Id personally just stick with the wheel it came with even if it would fit. I have an 04 overland and the fake wood is starting to crack on the top of the wheel right where I hold it all the time.

I could stick with the original, but it is just starting to show signs of wear that can't be conditioned out... just looking for other options, sucks that the fake wood is weak and that it won't fit.

Thanks for your input

If I was going to do a steering wheel swap, it would be to this.

Edit: Same goes for the seats.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but I have a bad steering wheel in my 98 ZJ and need a replacement.
I have been looking for a good used wheel for about a month now and found nothing. I can find used wheels all day long, but there in bad to poor condition and still cost close to $100 after shipping. That's just to much cash for a wheel that's not in near perfect condition. I found a few in near perfect condition, but I'm not going to pay $200+ for a used wheel ether.

Is there any other steering wheels that will work on my 98? I know the 96-98 wheels work. But I'm looking for something that is cheaper but still in good condition.

Thanks.
