Newbie looking at early model Jeep GC's.

What do I need to look for?

What can I expect to go out and when? Water pumps, brakes, belts (timing chain or belt?), etc.

I'm currently looking at 1994 GC with 136k miles, 6-cylinder I believe, asking $4,000.

Thanks!

I would get the V8. The automatic with the 6 does not perform.

I just recently bought my first car. I just got a 94 Grand Cherokee, auto with the 6cyl with 100000miles for 6grand. I test drove the v8 and really i wasn't that much impressed. The 6 has pretty good acceleration and has enough for me being a high school student and the insurace will be alot less. If you got the money to spend on gas and insurace then buy the v8 but the 6cyl is plenty fast and their is some things you can add to it to give a little more power(exausht...)

Good luck
