Why not go with a new niner - and then you can always cannibalize your "trail rig" at some point if it begins to get to that point (as a parts vehicle)?
I've really thought long and hard about a Wrangler too, but I keep coming back to the decision to stick with my ZJ - it's too versatile to move away from.
