New Zj?

So im stuck between a new zj and a wrangler (yj or tj). Ill have the 94 zj as a trail rig from now on.
What do you guys think, should i get a new zj or move to something else.
There are a few 5.9s up for sale in my area by the way

Why not go with a new niner - and then you can always cannibalize your "trail rig" at some point if it begins to get to that point (as a parts vehicle)?

I've really thought long and hard about a Wrangler too, but I keep coming back to the decision to stick with my ZJ - it's too versatile to move away from.

As rat proved, you can throw a 5 speed behind a niner. Once you try it you'll be addicted.

Don't get a yj, you really don't want to deal with front leafs.

Personally I'd go with another ZJ rather than a TJ. My wife has a 2000 TJ 4.0 Sahara I do all the maintenance/repairs on and there's very few things I like about it as far as a road vehicle. With a high center of gravity/short wheel base it gets blown all over the road by trucks/any wind while feeling unstable, even new HQ rag top is louder than heck, cold in winter/hot is summer, rusts even worse than my ZJ, etc.

Had to replace the left front fender last year because it was rusted through the top and now the right front fender needs replaced for the same rust problem. Had to replace a bad/leaking AC evaporator, like I did on my 96 ZJ, but you would have thought it wouldn't go out at the same time as mine being 4 years newer. And good luck hauling anything with a 1 1/2' x 3 1/2" space behind the back seat.

Every time we go anywhere together we take my ZJ and just leave the TJ sitting in the drive. Just my opinion and stick to ZJ's...

Wish I had a time machine to have a sit down with the zj designers to initiate a manual transmission option for all engines and options...

The problem is that nothing in the mopar bag of tricks is rally correct for the v8 zj, the nv3500 and ax15 are a bit weak for the v8, and the nv4500 wont fit in the tunnel.

I found a 95 ram today with the 5.2 + standard trans. If i can talk him down a little on price i might pick it up. Drive it for a while till i get a Zj with a bad trans, and then do a swap. Im not sure what the trans is but if it ends up being a NV4500 or similar ill have to do some sheet metal work before the swap.
Just thinking!
