New rims

I'm looking to get new rims. I want to go with 15x8 with 3.75 bs. My question is will my tires that I have (235 75 r15) with stock rims be wide enough to fit on the new rims?

Yes, they'll fit, but your tire guy might curse a bit when he has a bit of a hard time seating the bead, and you might have to run at a bit higher PSI, and they've got more of a chance of the bead unseating if you do any heavy offroading..and they might look like a bit like marshmallows....the tire shoulders will wear a bit more quickly than they should, too. But, yeah, they'll fit.

I'll be the one changing them, hopefully it won't be too big of a PITA. Is it not recommended though?

It is less than ideal, but it will work.

I had a set of 235/17/15s in my garage for about a month stacked on end. I found out that it's not a good idea to stack tires because they'll flatten each other out. I had a hell of a time getting them to seat on the stock 15x7 rims on my old Jimmy. Hopefully you don't have them stacked. That's really going to make it hard for the tire guy.

Another question on rims. If I get 16" rims is there more available tires around 32"? and does it make the price of the tire go up or down?

IMO...I would go with a 15x7 instead if you plan on running the 235's....Unless you have future plans of a lift and bigger tires that is....and I agree with Jeepnicholson, they will look funky on the wider rims...

I would run 15" myself. 16" rim tires are more expensive depending on the size you go with. A close equivalent to a 32" tire would probably beeee a 32x12.50 R15 or a 285/75R16...

Or maybe a 32x11.50 R15... I haven't dealt with standard fitments for a few years. Mose tires are going to metric if they're larger diameter than a 15" wheel, for SUVs and trucks that is...

Ok. Is there a larger variety for large tires on a 16" rim?

After shopping around a lot for tires for my stock TSi 16" rims, I ended up buying a set of 15s and tires for them. Tires are cheaper for 15s and there are more options available. I think the next time I need tires, the cost of the 15s will be a wash and every set after that I'll be "coming out ahead."
