New Parts vendor for ZJ's (Maybe WJ's)

TnT Customs (A local 4x4 fabrication shop) showed off their new customized ZJ at our local Christmas Caravan/Toys for Tots expo this past Saturday. They make great stuff for Wranglers and XJ's and now for the ZJ's as well. (If you're local they'll custom make you something for a WJ).

Here is a link to the ZJ section: http://www.tntcustoms.com/webv5/zjcatalog.asp

Some of the highlights in my opinion are the High-Clearence belly pan skid:

And the heavy duty belly pan:

They offered to build a pimped out TJ for a guy last year and all it would cost was materials. Contract said he couldn't wheel it for 3 years though because TnT was also painting/decaling the Jeep...

After the Christmas Caravan event it has really motivated me to move onto long arms and although 99% of people won't support this, I plan on swapping in a D44a in the back. I won a 25% gift certificate to ARB so I'll ARB the front & truss it as well.

So lets see:
$1800 for the LA kit
$350 for 6" springs
$400 for shocks
$250 for D44a
$250 for D30 truss
$500 to regear to 4.56

$3550+shipping - Hey Tim can I barrow some money?

I dunno Arlo...I cant see putting in the effort of changing the axle for the D44a... I would grab a D60 or at least a real 44 that you can get a selectable locker for...especially since you're going to be regearing as well.

Oh yeah - See if you can get them to fab up a rear tire carrier for WJ's like the one they had from Mopar for the ZJ's = )

D60 = overkill for what I plan on making my WJ into + hella expensive around here. D44a = 100% bolt up and the real reason I want it is because of the desire to keep ABS. I'll put an aussie in the D44a and call that axle done. Will probably even truss it if I can find some room w/o interfering with the suspension.

The D44 will hold up to 35's just fine. D60 = loss of ground clearence with the massive diff's those bad boys have.

We'll see how you do with yours it's going to be a while before I can afford to do that nonsense and get a new DD

At least until my tires are worn

ford 8.8 or 9in would be better than both, more ground clearance than the 60, and more reassurance than the al44. you could probably get a 8.8 for about the same $$ as the al44 too, but im not sure about abs.

Hmm...back to TNT
are the unibody stiffners for xj's or zj's or both??

8.8 sucks for the WJ...too narrow of an axle. Plus ABS won't be working with it easily.

I agree, I have been wheeling the Piss out of my D44A this year with 35" sticky Creepy Crawlers on Beadlocks.

I put in 4.56 gears $109 Plus install kit $99
Yukon Alloy Shafts\Aussie Locker $250 for shafts, $200 for aussie locker
Trussed the piss out of it. Bout $40 in scrap steel)
Rein-forced the cover (same

so all in all, I have about $ 700 into it.. Yeah, some could argue that you could "build up an 8.8, etc) but by the time you buy a locker, gears, etc.. you would be way over.

I have a D44 from a TJ sitting in my garage with 33 spline superiors, detroit, 456 crane cover ready to bolt in, Just been lazy and seeing what kind of abuse this rearend will take, so far its been fine., When and If I break it, I will swap in the 44.

(basicaly took 2 covers, cut the ring out of one, welded on some 3/16 strap and the bolted it over the stock cover (helicoiled the diff cover bolts and used some grade 8 bolts)

been working great so far...

We'll T&T Customs has stiffeners for both XJ's and ZJ's. The design is actually quite a bit different for the ZJ than the XJ in that it cups the unibody more and offers more support.

For those of you WJ guys, T&T Customs has a new 4-Link suspension system in the works for the WJ and should be available a month or so prior to the 1st of April 2007. It's development will come on the heels of the ZJ suspension system re-design scheduled for January 2007. If you're a WJ guy, hold on to your socks...there should be a Catalog with all the goodies around the middle of this year.

Not sure which project you're referring to. We request a 1 year commitment only to attend events. Typically the contract is to not destroy the vehicle before they've upheld their end of the deal but since damage is part of the sport/hobby, we'd almost be crazy to not want to see some as it validates the durability of our products.

ArloGuthroJeep, did we have a chance to meet this last weekend?

Kinda, I saw you and know of you (through Tom (of Tom & Becky and their nutty Orange XJ)).

If you want a WJ to test fit the long arms on give me a holler
