new to jeeps! deal or no deal?

just picked up this today? http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/2934250429.html

182,000 miles, tranny was rebuilt the 20th of march 2012, have warranty papers, tires are new and have warranty on them as well they are 31x10.50 falken rocky mountains, roof rack, roof rack, class 3 hitch with the brake adjuster on the inside, 12 inch kicker with 1600 watt amp, tinted windows, everything electrical works, after market tail lights, 4.0l v6. i gave 1550 for it is this a good price?

only thing ive noticed is when in first gear it has a bit of a surge and jumps a little and when it gets hot i have to tap the gas to put it in reverse or it will shut off, guy said its cause the tranny it started after the rebuild, anything i should check out? it doesnt do this unless its hot, works fine cold.

also any good exhaust tedhniques? i want tips 45'd out the back suggestion for it not to sound like a bumble bee?? and about two more inches of lift ideas?

Pics?

Sounds decent, although I don't know what's wrong with the tranny.

What do you mean by surge?

For $1550 it sounds like with a few minor things, you'll have a nice Jeep!

for dual exhaust, check this out

For a v6 ZJ, I'd say it's a bargain. Them are rare.

It has the 4.0. You can't do duels with an inline engine lol.

The 4.0 really doesn't respond well to a free flowing ehaust (other than a header) it needs a little back-pressure.

Well I took this puppy for a joy ride today, just to see if I found anything wrong and everything on this car is excellent,, (I really hate hate the next word I'm going to have to use) EXCEPT, this thing drove me crazy today I drove to auburn university campus to ride around and show this thing off and yell roll tide at by standers(bout 20 minutes from my house) and I just can't pin point what could cause this vibration its having, along with the surge I explained above which is like when you let out on the clutch a little early on a stick shift and it bounces a little, when its hot and I put it in reverse the car will vibrate and putter dead, unless I tap the gas while changing the gear, when I'm at a red light it vibrates unless I put it in nuetral and then the vibration automatically stops, should I take this tranny back to the place its under warranty at? Also this one is a mystery, I hit a pot hole while beginning my joy ride, and it bounced until I let off the gas so from then on out I chased pot holes to ee if it would do it again hahaha not the smartest thing but I race motocross and travel a lot, actually have a race in livingston tn. Two weeks from and may have to drive this thing, just don't wanna wabble the whole way there.... all suggestions of fixtures welcomed I'm only 20 and just made the transition from the explorerforum. To the jeepforum so I'm not to familiar yet. Thanks everyone

Sounds like motor or transmission mounts combined with a bad bushing or more. Check all the rubber components under the vehicle. You'll have to remove the control arms one at a time to check. Pay close attention to all three mounts, trackbar and control arm bushings.
