New guy with a ZJ
Just bought a 97 ZJ and did a little bit of work. Its idling pretty rough so im trying to figure it out. I did some research and it could be my PCM connections, plugged cat, etc.. I hope to learn alot.

Clean your IAC, search for it, there's a great tutorial on it on here.

Welcome to the forum! I'm fairly new too. My 97 had a rough idle and a new IAC cured it.

Start a repair fund , keep a little something on the side :welcome:

IAC valve, clean it or replace it. also not a bad idea to take your throttle body off and clean it as well. mine ran so much smoother after i cleaned the throttle body

would changing the catalytic converter help with the stalling problem.

Does it run rough all the time? Does it get any better or worse when it warms all the way up? Is your check engine light on? How many miles does it have? When was the last time simple maintenance was done on it such as plugs wires cap and rotor? What about the fuel filter?

I wouldn't throw any more parts or money at it until we get a little more information. It could be something as small as needing a tune up. Or even one spark plug wire arcing.

I had the same problem...mine turned out to be the sparkplug wires...
I put in new 8mm NGK wires and no more cutting out..

The time now is 01:11 AM.
