New guy has lift question

Im looking into getting a 1994 jeep grand cherokee very soon like tomorrow. i was wondering can i do a 3 in lift with a 2 in body boost without having to do any driveshaft work or anything to special? I know i can do the 3in lift without having to get a new drive shaft and im planning on putting 31s but i figured if i can do it the extra 2in wouldent hurt for the tires to move around in.

Thanks,

Jay

Just do a 2" budget boost, all you need are the rubber pucks and shocks, you can run 31's on that setup with out any problems.

If you want more the best thing to do is a F->R swap. Look in the FAQ section there is a write up on what is involved.

no body lift, as it is a unibody vehicle

3" lift is fine for 31's. Your tires will stuff fine. The body boost is a Budget boost. Body boost is like a body lift. Uniframe vehicles cannot get a body lift. If you go higher like 5-6" you will run into more problems than they are worth. Save your money and run 3" with the 31's. Keep the saved money and buy long arms if you still want bigger. They will be worth the wait. Want 5"+? your looking at about 2-4 grand and you will still run into problems. You can cheap out on stuff but in the long run you will be unhappy. Im not a naysayer. I run 6.25" on short arms.
700 bucks for coils, shocks, brake lines
800 bucks for short arms
350 for trackbars
200 for misc things you fix after DW
Whatever you spend on tires and axles after that
150 for discos and rear endlinks
300 for addco antiswaybars because you will be swaying like a mofo

Now Ive spent more than that trying to make my jeep look nice, ride nice, and wheel nice. And it all started with 31" tires and a crappy 3.5" lift.

Once your lift and tires are on. Measure up for bumpstops. You will flex good with your swaybar disco'd. With 31's you will have no problems except the urge to go bigger. After a month the 31's looked stock. I never had any complaints with my 3.5/31" lift. Spend the extra money on a front lunchbox locker. Some skid plates and youll be wheeling really nice.
