New Front drive shaft, $600?

I took my jeep 5.2L in to get worked on and the auto shop said i needed a new front drive shaft. He said it would be $600 for just the drive shaft. That seems a little pricey to me. What do you guys think. Is there anywhere online i can get one that is cheaper?

Man screw that. Do you offroad that thing? If it is a '96 or higher and dont wheel it, screw that and remove it permanently. If you have a 93-95, you better get a new one.

He said he could rebuild the driveshaft instead for about $100 so thats what im gonna have done instead of getting a whole new shaft.
