new DD

So my mom picked up a '14 WL Limited with the 3.6 & 8 speed auto over the weekend.

She gave me her stock white 5.9 Limited to DD. I now get to park my big black 5.9 & save a little $ on gas with the stock 5.9. Plans so far: clean it up, tune up, fluids & filters, 242 swap, door pins, ac evap/heater core, fix the little odds and ends, take the 30's off, put stock street tires on my 3rd set of 5.9 rims in storage, and just drive it. Why have 2 modded 5.9's when you can have a huge black one & a smooth riding, quiet, stocker to daily drive?

Just rolled 190K. Runs & shifts like its got 50K on it. They didn't want to trade it in BC they wouldn't have got much for it.

I have my jeep and a car. The car is better on gas. But the money that I do save on gas just goes to insurance on the car. So in the grand sense of things I save nothing if not pay more for the 2nd gas saver.

I live 10 mins from work, the slate 5.9 pulls 10 in town 14 highway. my mom averaged 16 with the white one. We pulled 22 mpg out of it loaded down driving back 12 hours from St Louis Missouri 2 years ago. Otherwise it pulls around 17 highway. I drove it all day yesterday, and this morn & noticed I wasn't burning as much fuel as the slate one does on the same trips.

I got 24mpg with a 5.2 in the winter time at that. The wind was blowing in the direction i was going. LOL

My 31's do suck back more gas then the stock tires city driving.

30's on this one. Looking for stock size tires at the moment. I calculated it out & couldn't believe it on that last tank home got 22 mpg. Idk how this thing gets decent mileage but it does. A whole tank of fuel will last me exactly 7 days in the big 5.9 running to work, misc errands up and down the hills here. I'm gonna fill up the white one & see what I get.

Since you've got the slate 5.9 lifted and ready with aggressive tires, def go with stock sizers on the white one. I put BFG Long Trails on my 5.9er in the stock size and they are perfect for a DD.

Jeepless for now, probably not for long
