He has a 242 with 2WD. (2WD, 4 Part Time, 4 Full Time, N, and 4 Lo - in that order).

This is a problem with the internet... lots of misinformation. Sometimes hard to tell what is true and what's not.


You may just need to have the linkage for the transfer case adjusted.

Noone ever told me bow to shift it into full time tho I have fixed the problem with switching the transfer case but I still can't figure out how to get it in full time

You put the lever into the full time position indicated on the console. Done.

Well maybe people should do a little research on their own rig first and let us know what they have. Thanks for pointing out the one line where I was incorrect. When you ask random people on the internet for advice, you're going to get some random answers.

And if the OP still hasn't figured it out with all this advice, he needs to take it to a mechanic.
