Need opinions please cant sleep

So I tried to build a swing out tire carrier from a blazer and failed now I have 5 holes in my quarter panel so it was back to Google and the drawing board. My options are a fold down tire carrier or swing out both mounted in the hitch. What do you guys think which would you do and what are the benefits of each? I see the fold down being easier and faster to make. Downside makes it harder to load the rear. Swing out seems to cost more to build takes more time but looks better and raiser to load rear. I've seen both and just don't know which one I want. Please help may sound dumb but I'm torn between the two.

How'd you fail? (Pics)

Keep the swing out build going. You'll get it, if you got a steal bumper. I like'em better. Less noise and shtuff

Why didn't the Blazer carrier work? Did you use a backing plate?

The brackets that bolt to the body on the blazer I welded to a inch plate bolted that to my body with a plate on the inside worked good till I put on the tire and opened the levage on the plate with the Wright of the tire made it bend about 2 inches opening. I wish I took pics before scraping it. Don't know if I make any sence ill draw pics tonight to try and describe it. Better. I think I'm gonna go swing out off the hitch ill post pics when its built
