Need new tires...current tires too big?
The tires I have on now are way over the hill and need to be replaced. Ive been looking into BFG tires, I hear good things about them. The tires that are on my 01 Grand Cherokee now are sized at 245/65/17. The stock tires were sized at 225/75/16.
If I go with the 225 tires then I will need to replace the wheels. My question is are the current tires, the 245 tires too big for this truck? Ive never had to look into all of this until now, so I really don't know what would fit, what wouldn't fit etc... Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

ya I mean they obviously fit and are able to function. The front right tire was actually rubbing on the front end, which I had fixed by pushing the front end back a little. They fit, but I dunno if they should be there, thats what I'm asking.

That tire size was optional for your Jeep I'm pretty sure. You have a different tire size because you have upgraded 17" rims, so obviously a 225/75/16 wouldn't fit any more

trim a little more plastic out of the way and just put on the same ones you have now.
