Need help removing a plug!

So today i decided to replace the governor pressure sensor and the (i guess that is what's it called) the solenoid in my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, well i got the plug electrical plug out of the governor pressure sensor, and there is another plug that is big , has a square red looking lock that slides back and forth that is connected to the governor pressure solenoid, i slid the red lock as much as i can but its not to the end of the track, i tired to remove the plug but its really hard, i about to use a screwdriver to take it out but i am afraid that i might break it, is there anyway to remove that little sucker!!!
