Help me decide where to cut my daystar bump stops

Right now and for the past year, I've running w/o front bumps stops.
So from a normal stock zj, I'm sitting at 3" of lift from my upcountry package and 2.25" coil spacers.

I bought some daystar front bumpstops, and I am wondering where should I cut them?

I have stock size tires now. Now with my rusted out rockers, I'm cutting the rockers out and installing some homebrew rock sliders to fit in their place. I have a friend, who does rat rods and custom fabrication on anything. He is going to be helping me with this project, and while I'm there, I am going to do some fender trimming. Ultimately, I am going to be getting some 285/75/16s in about sept. So I don't want to cut off to much off of these and have to buy new ones.

The red line would be about stock.
The green line is about 7/8" longer
The blue line is 1 5/8" longer then stock
If left uncut it is almost 2 1/2" longer then stock. Which If I did that I would only have about 3"(if that) of up travel. I have 8" of space from the mounting point for the bump stop cup to the spring mount.

Also should I use the stock 1/2" spacer? Purple arrow

Geez com' on people, how about helping a jeep bro out.

I know that there are people that are way more jeep educated than me. I just dont wanna guess on this cut and then have to spend more money later when I have my bigger tires.

Any input from anybody?

Or is this the trend that I seam to be an outcast, not getting much help when I post.
I know I am a smart a$$ sometimes, but anyone have any hints that I can do to get more direct responses for when I ask for help.

Don't cut them. Leave them whole. They are easy to put in and take out, so put them in whole, see if you need to cut them. If you are going to get bigger tires anyway, then you may need longer bumpstops. Put them in whole, find some place to go flex, look at when they touch and then see if you need to cut them.

Been there did that.
If I would have left em whole I would only have about 3" or less of up travel.

I cut em, I now have about 4.5"-5" of up travel.

Now when I get my new tires I'll have cut fenders by then. And to add when my 28" are fully stuffed in front I have 2-3" of play room all around em. I guess if I have to get new bump stops for the 285s I will. But most likely I would just space these down to were I need em if need be.
