n00B T Case Probs

Hey all, I'm quite new here, and came here specifically because I'm having a bad problem with my T Case. Aparently at one of the servicings to my 1998 ZJ with Selec-Trac, someone put the wrong gear oil in the T Case. Sadly, it could have been from one of numerous places, or even in the 6 months which the first owner had it.

To make a long story short: Jeep got serviced, incompetent fool added wrong oil, T Case overheated and melted parts, 4WD is no longer.

So if anyone didn't gather from the Cliff' Notes, I need a new T Case, and I need it bad. The only thing is that spending that ludicrous amount of money to get a new one isn't an option right now. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

I'd so love to find one in a Junkyard, but not a single junkyard in my area has one. And on top of that, I can't remember the T Case Code...

The Selec-Trac is the NP (New Process) or NV (New Venture) 242. Here is a NP242 for sale on ebay right now out of a 99 Cherokee: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1873812507

Sweet! Thank you so much for the help. This problem has been a b***h to deal with, and well... this is so far the cheapest option. Now to convince the parents that a little project in the garage is good.

For all who helped. Thank you very much.
