can someone expalin these for me:
1. DHAS Lock-Up Torque Converter (what is this?) 2. DSA Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle (is this by chance the button that is right by the gear shifter?) 3. GTMP Power Heated Mirrors (is there a button for these or they are automatic when needed?) 4. NMCP Heavy Duty Engine Cooling (better cooling system w/the towing pkg?) 5. SBAS Power Rack and Pinion Steering (what is this?) 6. SDAS Normal Duty Suspension (bad/good?)

do you by chance have a pic of the button by the shifter, I dont recall ever seeing a button there on a zj.
I am week in this area so fellas please correct me . heres my input/knowledge as the lay person The lockup tourqe converter will do as the name suggest. in so many words it locks in put to out put , It will help reduce heat build up by not allowing slip as a normal converter will do you will recieve 100% power on the output of the transmission,no power lost thru slip in converter, this is good for towing, have you noticed when you are driving a steady speed and just apply break lightly the rpms will rise slightly then drop. that is when the convert unlocks and I would so like to know if the anti spin is the same as trac loc. Limited slip or is it an real locker , my money is on LS

Off ![]() On ![]() the guy that was selling the jeep mentioned that the previous owner installed this, where it's supposed to help get out of those muddy areas or for example pulling a boat from the lake when it's wet on the ground (maybe because this is a 2wd? - he had to put this in to help the wheels from slipping)

Sound like you have a locker in the back, and that's the switch to activate it.

so it was after market, It is very possible you have an after market locker, the only option I know of for the zj was the limited slip which I would think that would be good enough for pulling a boat out , It would be a streach for someone to spend that much money to install a true locker in a 2wd that already has a Limited slip unless the L.s in the rear failed and then the previous owner replaced the rear and added a new locker. which is a huge bonus for you. If you want to know if you have a locker it is easy to tell.
ofcourse block the front tires, Jack up one side in the rear, place jeep in N and with the key on and locker switch active/on, you should NOT be able to spin the tire off the groud by hand because it is LOCKED to the other side on the ground, then Unselect the locker switch, if that is what it is ,and you will be able to spin the tire off the ground.

![]() Looks like you have an locker in the rear, either electric or air. you need to do a little more investigations on that. Real shame that its a 2WD though. ![]()

you know that gague and switch you showed a picture of is probably not for an air bag , if you have a locker, after market, it would probably be air actuated, that switch might turn on the compressor for the locker. I bet that is it, I am very confident that is for your locker. not and airbag. an airbag does not work with that consept. compressed air that is.

I'm pretty sure that gauge with the switch is for firestone airbag spring helpers.
