When I bought it I knew it had a cooant leak but couldnt see where, Well got it home and to work and dug into it.
After looking into it I found that there was a bolt snapped off for the water pump (PO had the water pump done at a shop, What great work they did)
Then I also found the thermostat was leaking so I removed to find this great job done by the same shop
then I found that the housing was warpped pretty good so I got a new one.
Well after all this was done it was time for the lift. I had bought a 5.9L from a buddy for $800 that had cought fire and he was moving back to Utah and didnt want to deal with it. So for now I robbed the lift/tires & wheels off for mine.
Lift being done on mine
All done and at work, The lift WAS 5.5" (OLD worn out Rustys coils) sitting on 285/75/16s. Was sagging a bit in the front.
Well as much as I used to love the Rubicons I just wasnt liking the look this time and I wanted back to 35s. So I had got a good deal (OR SO I THOUGHT) on some 35/12.50/15 BFG KM1. I traded some 90% 285/75/16s for them.
I then picked up some 15x8 Black soft 8s for $100 and removed the 5.9L rocker panels and installed the 35s
Cleaned up where the rocker panels were, Tinted the tail lights and installed the rare tail light guards.
Well shortly after this those good deal BFGs started showing heavying weather cracking and going flat. So I was on the hunt for new tires again and got a great deal on some 40% 35/12.50/15 MTRs (Old style).
So I had helped out a fellow JF user (roguezj), He wanted his 5.9L put back to stock and I had all my stock stuff left over so we did a little trading. I ended up with all his lift stuff and some went on mine.
Im now sitting at a 7" lift on 35s. Its running all 8 Adj RE arms, Front & Rear Adj IRO track bars, 4.5" IRO coils, ACOS spacer in the front adj to 2.5", Rear 2.5" Poly spacer with ext spindle, Procomp shocks, NP242 with real SYE, Tom Woods front & rear drive lines.
Got a few goodies, Steering box brace, Ruddge Ridge 1.5" wheel spacers, New rock lights.
So the thermostat that i fixed started leaking again and the thermostat failed so it was time to fix it again. Now its all fixe and i have heat again with no leaks.
So now im caught up to date on the Jeep, I did just order RC long arm cross member and brackets, Drop pitman arm, 2 gauge pillar pod, tranny temp & air/fuel pod gauges. Heading to the junk yard to pick up a new NP242 due to the chain being bad in mine. Picking up a roof rack and some offroad lights that I will be modding HIDs into as well. Pics to come when parts get here and installed.
