My tire dilemma

Going to get tires very soon.I want to get 33's but being having my rear-end locked is not a wise choice. But I also plan on upgrading my axle within a year.If I do decide to get 33's now I will not be able to do any of the difficult trails in MOAB this June. But I also don't want to wait another two to three yearss to get 33's either.Kim says stick with 32's and wait till they wear out to get 33's so we can continue to do fun trails. She does not like doing easy trails when im the driver.Plus she wants(her being the driver) to do Poison Spider at GSW.

To be honest, I'm not planning on going to a 33's until I get the 5.5" springs from Iron Rock, the D44 should be plenty strong for 33's. You have the D35 in the rear right? I see what you mean by needing to switch the axle with 33's and being locked. You definately don't want to break anything. You could look around for a cheap used set with some good tread left to get you by until you can change the axle.

Right now I'm rubbing the upper fenderwell pretty good at full flex as it is with 32's. I could only imagine what I'd do if I went up to 33's.

Also if your going to Moab, you know your going to want to do the fun stuff.

Ramon,

I'm looking to upgrade tires also. However, the only thing keeping you from doing harder lines was a spotter and your driver wanting to take the time to try it.

Damit guys.I want to hear get the 33's from you guys.. I don't want to get a set of used 32's.Ive done alot of trails in MOAB and I know being locked and 33's with the D35 I would definetly break an axle.

Sounds like you need to order the 33's and go get that axle now then...

Did that help?

Get the 33's and a spare set of axle shafts and you should be set.

I won't tell you what size tires I fit today. I'll make another thread for it.

Get 33s. What do you have, D44a? It should be fine with 33's

If I had the D44a I would not even give it a second thought.I have an extra set of spare axles for my D35.Upgrading my axle is not going to be cheap.

Ramon, I think you'll find that unless you are really hard on the gas pedal, you won't break the D35 all that often. The ones I've seen go, only do so when the driver decides to put the throttle to the floor for no reason but to show off.

Woody you have a good point.I don't wheel like that at all. I take it nice and slow unless I need to give it some gas.
Blaine im keeping my eyes open for a WJ's 44 but no luck yet. They are still expensive even at the local junk yard.

get the 33"s! They are a blast! Tested mine out today, flexed 'er pretty good too...didnt rub bad at all! (Though I removed my washer fluid reservoir, and I dont have the original bumper). Now for the taunting...

Pretty good flex...

Hey...I dont think it was even rubbing here, but it was close lol.

Look at what you could be doing...mmmm fun.
