It's only going to be temporary to go to the 42re. This time next year I hope to have a tow rig, and the jeep will be off the road. Then I won't have to get it inspected and I can put the aw4 into it again.

yea ive officially turned my jeep into a trail rig only. The wife and i will be looking for a tow rig of some sorts here pretty soon. So once you make it a trail rig your gonna turn it into a buggy right.

And to further add, 96+ are OBD-IIs, and I forget when it began but 95 was the last year of OBD-I. OBD-I had to do emissions on dyno, OBD-II had just the diagnostic port.

And all of those handheld tuners all use that port. That is why 2 cars/Jeeps can be identical but if one is a 95 and the other a 96, then the tuners won't work on the 95.

Man Charlie, that kinda sucks! Perhaps look into something else that isn't an AW4?

That's kinda what I'm thinking about. I'd like to do an ax15 because i'd love to have a standard jeep. I don't really know what else to put in there other than an aw4 or an ax15 though.

This is just a long shot, but could you get an adapter and perhaps swap in a 46RE or 44RE.
