My First Jeep and Build Thread

Hey everyone. I picked up my first Jeep from my sister in law this summer. 95 ZJ Laredo with the 5.2. I love it so far but it is far from where I would like it to be. So gonna start building it soon. So far I've bypassed the crapped out infinity gold stereo system, did a tune up, added fog lights, added a yakima roof rack, changed the rear diff fluid, changed the serpentine belt, painted the grille black, painted the stock wheels black, and ripped out the old crappy hands free cell phone system. I only have a few pics at the moment but more will come as I start building it up. Hope you enjoy

You've got a good looking Jeep! I wish i could get mine to shine like that. I love the 5.2, these things have some power. What're your plans for it?

Looks really good. Yeah what do you have for future plans? Gonna keep an eye on this to get some ideas. Go check my build out if ya want. Get some ideas frame mine. It's mainly interior at the moment.

Have you thought about painting the side cladding, mirrors and roof rack black? Would make it look like new again.

ive thought about painting the cladding. i dont mind the way it looks when its nicely cleaned and waxed tho. as for future plans.... i wanna do a nice small lift. like 3.5 nothing too crazy cuz its my daily driver and i have 2 kids. dont want them jumping out and breaking legs lol. it has 31x10.5x15's on it right now. the previous owner put them on without lifting it. it rubs when the steering is locked. im gonna be building a safari style roofrack to work with the yakima rack i have on it now. but the first thing i wanna do is get a new set of wheels. the stockers just dont do it for me. ill probably end up doing more to it later on when i get time. and thanks for the compliments guys!

nice. ill have to consider doing that. anyways, smacked a deer the other night coming home from dinner. only damage was a shattered turn signal and side marker. lucky me lol. so im debating on whether to order black corners or clear corners. cant stand the stock orange ones.

Clear corners would be my choice. Good luck with the Jeep and build!

I tinted my OEMs myself and then got the nice clear headlights. Don't search for the thread I started when I got the new ones, you find out why I had To get the new ones, and we don't want that now lol.

Sent from my iPhone using JeepForum and has probably been edited.
