Thanks guys! Glad you are liking the build. I really should have taken pictures of the engine and the heads and all when it was apart, but whatever.

I am about to leave work and go work on the Jeep, I think I might have to drop the long arm cross member to get the Y pipe back into the mount. So I should know tonight if the Jeep runs nice. Ill take a video if it does.

Well tonight I got the exhaust all taken care of for now, at least so its somewhat quiet for my late-night startups.

Tomorrow I work, but after work I plan on finishing up the Jeep and getting it all back together for a test drive. She idles great, sometimes it sounds like its going to die when you rev it and let it fall down in the RPMs though. You can see it in the video.

Anyway, here ya go.

Anyone know a place to find good looking hood vents for cheap? I am thinking either doing vents or a cowl.

CAUTION: VIDEO CONTAINS SOME PROFANITY - - - -

dude that video sucks..so when are we gonna race?

my jeep with the 4.0, 3.07s and 34s vs. your jeep with the 5.2, 3.73s and 35s?

on second thought, i might get wasted ahaha, oh well, we will do it anyways. name a time and place.

and i have to go back to u-pull soon to get other seats for the stang, might hit highway 101 since upull didnt have any stangs, i can look for lebaron hood vents if you want.

Hahha Thanks...

Yeah I have not posted on this thread for a while. She is all done, was having some problems with shifting but I ended up adjusting the TV Cable and first band and its all good now.

Also had a transmission output seal leak, but I fixed that and replaced the tcase input seal at the same time.

I love this 5.2, very big improvement over the 4.0 at all speeds, and it sounds a lot better with aftermarket exhaust. I still want a 5.9 or 6.7 stroker though

I bet it feels like a whole different Jeep. So to answer the million threads that are posted every year about the difference in power between the 2, does the 5.2 make the 4.0 feel like a completely slow turd? I bet it does....I love my 318..

Sure does. Its not necessarily that my Jeep is fast now (although I have raced a few fullsize trucks and won, 5.4 f-150's, and I beat an F-350 Turbo Diesel 3 times) But it is a lot quicker at all speeds and just a lot easier to drive without always having to floor it.

Get off the race junk and more on the build up.

I noticed that you chose not to flatten your tires but to remove the radiator and all the front components. I left mine in and just flattened the tires to get the crane high enough.

I needed to remove all of that or there was absolutely no way it was coming out. Keep in mind, I swapped the engine and transmission all in one shot.

redhatman, how did you deal with the computer and associated wiring for the swap? Did you have to add any wiring in?

I would imagine that wiring for two more injectors would have to be done, but I'm just curious as to how you did this.

Thanks.

You have the right thought.

I swapped all of the wiring from donor jeep. Computer, wiring, transmission, engine, everything...
