my door will unlock but alarm goes off when i open the door
so i have to run around to the passenger door and unlock that door to turn off the alarm.
can someone help me? do i have to change out the keyhole thing or is it just easier to disconnect the alarm?

you can disconnect the alarm or you can replace the sensor on the drivers side door key cylinder.
the switch is around 30 and not to hard to replace disabling the alarm system is not to hare either

If you've got the keyfob, you can also use that to disarm the alarm before you open the door.
Or unlock the liftgate on your way to the driver's door.

You can pull the alarm fuse... just a suggestion.

i had the same problem when i first got my jeep. i found out that if you open the door with the key and the interior light comes on it will not set off the alarm. if the light does not come on and the door is still unlocked it will set off the alarm. i sometimes have to unlock my door 2-3 times before the interior light comes on. hope this helps
