my 95 cherokee will turn over but not start

My 95 grand Cherokee would turn over but not start untill the battery died and now the battery will hold a charge but a very low charge. I initially replaced the spark plugs and ignition coil. I'm out of ideas and need help, thanks

Make sure you have a good battery with a good charge, battery cables clean/tight on both ends.

Otherwise you'll be chasing ghosts.

Have you checked to make sure fuel is getting to the engine? Or to be more specific, do you hear your fuel pump turn on when you put the key in the "on" position?

You could always try pulling out the spark plug w/wire, ground the threads to the block or whatever, and turn it over and make sure you have a spark. Fuel/Air/Spark.

sounds like the crankshaft position sensor is bad, does your jeep have a dizzy or coil pack? ,if you have the distributor then its more then likely the magnetic pickup in the dizzy, if you have the coil pack then it could be the cam position sensor, can you check for codes?

Sparks good as well, and what's the difference between the dizzy and the coil? And where is that sensor at?
I have a coil pack by the way

you have spark, dizzy=distributor ,the crankshaft position sensor is located on the passenger side of the engine right where the engine bolts to the trans, have you checked the fuel injector relay?also i would rent a fuel injector test noid from auto zone, and check to see if u have a pulse at the injectors while cranking

Oh okay. And my father said he checked the relay and it was good. And okay I'll take a look at that sensor tomorrow, what should I look for? I know its got to have a certain clearance gap?
