Is this as much of a steal as I think it is?

Well I decided to enter the world of wheelin so I figured I would start small and work my way up. Originally I was looking at the RE 2" BB but then I went to fat bobs garage and found a 3" BB with the performance 8000 shocks. I then looked on ebay for the 3" kit and found the same kit for $40 cheaper than what fat bobs was selling it for. And not only that, but the kit found on ebay comes with bump stop extenders included where as fat bobs charged an extra $10. Once the kit is installed I plan to add 1.5" wheel spacers with some 31/10.5s

Long story short.. is this as good of a deal as my newb self thinks it is?

lol those shocks look kinda sketchy to me....I'm the first to take risks when it comes to deals on eBay for jeep parts, and I'll say that I think I would save up the money for a proper kit...your suspension is too important to use crappy parts especially lift and shocks. Besides you'll just have to spend more money later when those cruddy shocks poop out.

I'd say pass on "Fat Bob's Garage" :)

You need to spend some time reading this:

A 2" BB and shocks is all you need to run 31's. 3" BBs start to get sketchy and there's no way I'd stack an additional 1.5" puck on top of that. Even if you did that would put you at 4.5" and at that height you have to start upgrading parts like trackbars, control arms, brake lines, etc.

IMO just get a 2" BB and get some decent shocks that won't ride like a dump truck. This way you can still run the 31's without spending a ton of money on upgrading parts.

The 1.5" "blocks" are wheel spacers to save money and have your wheels offset.

You're right. When I first read it I missed "wheel" and just saw 1.5" spacers.

I haven't looked at the price of wheel spacers recently but IIRC you may just want to consider getting a set of soft 8s with 4" of backspacing instead, since you get a new set of wheels for practically same price as two sets of spacers
