Go buy a dremel tool and rip your heads off and intake off. Pocket port and clean up the castings. Maybe read some articles on the internet on how to port, but really it's super easy. You might be able to afford a cam as well with that budget; www.compcams.com offers the best grinds for the 5.2

Didn't you just post the same question a few days ago? Buy a jet engine and zip-tie it to the roof rack.

HAHA!! I wouldn't grind anything if I were you! Intake and exhaust, chip, MSD coil. This is a little redundant don't cha think! I can't imagine grinding things in my engine with a dremmel! You?

Think about that for a second. How else do you think porting is done? You think when you take it to a machine shop they just magically remove iron?

Intake, chip and exhaust mods are for ricers.

Probably not worth it since you will need new pistons and rings to go with the overbore. I doubt you could pull anymore than .060" over anyway.

Ouch, those are harsh words, nothing ricer about my jeep. infact, a little insulted by those comments. I agree porting is a good idea, but there's nothing wrong with removing that lame a$$ restrictor box and throwing on the cold air intake. While your at it, nothing wrong with expanding that exaust all the way out either.

Ricer = weedeater V8 = rumble two distinct sounds, and I wouldn't be cought dead making the first...no offense to those bi-members in here that have both.

It's mainly because you would be surprised at how little you receive on the dyno when you do intake, chip and exhaust on a completely stock engine. The factory designs the intake so that it flows just the right amount of air in the correct velocity to maintain maximum efficiency with the available power levels of the engine. Once you start doing real mods like I listed above, then there is a bigger need for breathability; at both ends.

There's nothing wrong with pulling the guts out of your engine. Get your hands dirty

I keep a bottle of fast orange readily available, my hands stay dirty, however, before I start ripping apart my daily driver, I'll need to get a beater to get me from A to B.

Good points, but for now I do the mods I can get done in an afternoon, so I can get around

Bah I've had the engine out of my IROC-Z and back in within the afternoon.

But that's why I have two rides. Just in case something does go wrong.

Still in pre-school I see.

I think I hear your mom calling. She said something about changing your diaper.

You dont have to be so bitter just because you don't know how to use a wrench.

Hey, getting back to the subject....Did you email Nick Kolak?

He is a very knowledgeable about chips, intakes, exhaust (headers, mufflers, catalytic converters and the like). I bought my mopar performace computer from him.
