More jeepy and less luxury...

Looking for some ideas on how I can make the inside of my zj more rigged and less luxury... I'm already ripping the carpet and putting a old army ammo container for the console, but I'm looking to do something with all that plastic trim on the inside... pictures and post would be greatly helpful!

Maybe bedline the floor after you rip out the carpet.

Take out the headliner and beline the ceiling.

Add interior cage?

Metal/better grab handels.

Remove the doors, or take off the plastic on the doors and fab up some metal handels and cover the holes(this is something i'd love to see done)
maybe tube doors?

Remove as much plastic as possible on the inside just to see how it looks?

Idk just throwing out any ideas i had since no one else has responded

on the roll cage idea, make it look like the baja trucks, with the wheel mounted to the cage at an angle, i think that would look bad ***.
start removing all the outside trim, pull the bumpers.
also i think tube doors would look cool, i have seen them on the WJ's (can't remember which thread on here has it)
you also need to have more lights than are required also, roof lights, bumper lights, and don't forget the CB antenna. (it also appears the more the better on these to, tho i'm not a fan)
i also really like how the cargo racks look.

nobody does anything with it because quite frankly. thats a stupid idea. i wouldn't call that making your jeep 'less luxury' i'd call it 'rednecking it up'

luxury items on a ZJ? that would things like AC, leather etc. all those other goodies. the only cool thing you could do would be take the AC out and put in an OBA system off the AC compressor.

maybe take out the back seat and install a gunrack? maybe pull out the leather/comfy seats and install a bench to sit on? get rid of the seatbelts and use a series of twist ties to hod yourself in? take the doors off and make some 'half doors' using 2x4s and ply wood? (don't forget to make a 3" budget boost with 3" wood blocks too)
the best mod i can think of though is to go get some black, green, and brown paint, and give it a camo paintjob. but don't bother prepping the body. just splash it all on. get rid of the muffler too. those things rob horse power, and hell, you want people to hear you coming as well as see you coming. mufflers were invented by communists to sensor our right to throttle it out!

just follow my plan, and you can have the loudest and ugliest ZJ ever! but i don't think it'll be considered 'rugged' more like just a POS.........

ok....... all joking/ranting aside. just leave the interor paneling as it is. if you have a Laredo, i wouldn't call it 'luxury' anyways. guess if you really wanted you could accent the whole interor with camoflauge stuff. i've seen it done. looked......... meh, to each their own. it was a lot of work to make it look good.

Eventually I'd like to scrap mines entire interior and rebuild door trim dash and console from metal. 4 racing seats with 5 point harnesses. Waterproof everything (marine radio, etc). Remove doors, replace with tube doors, all 4 of them. Cut hatch and rear off, replace with soft top. Internal and external rollcage. 3 inch pivot bars. All metal bumpers.

But all this is after its daily driver duties are done, and after it can clear 38s and has dual transfer cases, and a 4 bolt chevy 350

(Yes, I think a lot)

Get the interior real wet, like with a garden hose. Then use a propane weed burner to remove everything made of cloth and plastic

So, you want to put effort into making it look like a beat to hell 78 Chevy wood truck? I figured I'd see your age listed at 16-17 with this idea.

How about just driving it and pulling the stuff that breaks or you need to for another mod when the time arrives. You'll most likely never get to that point anyways and you'll be able to sell it for a few hundred more that way.

Nope. Just a guy who thinks in his mind things that would be cool and uncommon.

yea well i think it would be hella cool, and uncommon if i ditched my V8 (bad on gas) and installed some reins on my jeep so it could be pulled around by unicorns chasing leprechauns (much better gas mileage, and a pot o' gold when i get to my destination!)
but alas, somethings won't happen........ like 38s on your stock ZJ.

nothing wrong with Dreaming. reach for the stars... but unless you're ZJs pulled by unicorns it won't get there on 38s anytime soon.

to OP....... i was trolling your profile because Whiteout said too.. and I do whatz i beez told... is it true you're ZJ is 2wd? if you really wanna make it a 'ruff and tuff' jeep, mabye add a transfer case, front axle and driveshaft. but make sure it has death wobble too.... thats a good start........

or unicorns. did you know that 5 unicorns pulling in tandem is better than 250hp motor?

That is incorrect, if you study the weight to power ratio of Unicorns, it equals out to be roughly 75.87 horsepower per unicorn, so mathematically you end up with 379.35 horsepower. But then if you add in the fact that they are chasing leprechauns its adds in roughly another 8.5-9.7 hp per unicorn. So then you are well your way to 421 hp. (give or take)
Sorry i just had to correct you, bad advice gets us nowhere..
