mopar chip, yay or nay?

A guy I know has a mopar chip that his dad used to have in his 95 Dakota 318 he wants to get rid of for $100. Do these chips do all that much? I am not a big believer in chips but since this is a mopar one and not something from jet or hypertech I'm kinda curious as to how much it does for the magnum 5.2's.

Good idea, moderate HP gain. Probably about 400 dollars for the chip, and you have to run premium gas too...but when I get mine I will look at them myself

Hope that helped..

the thing about the chips is that they reprogram the computer (E.C.M ) in your vehical so that it will shift at a diffrent time, and accelerate in diffrent ways, the biggest thing is to see if you still have a warentie and to check to make sure they wont void it. for the most part the chips will tell you computer to act like a race car compared to a go kart . they change the settings for your airflow, gas flow, you name it some even change the way the car starts after wards everyone i have ever used or seen used has inproved things about the car but some are diffrent then others so find out what they do for your car and go from there. good luck
if you cant ride it or drive it is it really worth the time to buy it?
