lug nut size

what are the dimentions of the lug nuts on the 96 zj. im looking to get some red ones to match my shock boots. 12x1.5mm?

13/16 are the stock size I believe, you are right. Forgot I changed mine to black and got the 3/4 acorn style because they are more common in my socket set.

Well that was easy XD I was looking on amazon, as I am accustomed to lol besides fb jf amazons and eBay I forget the rest of the Internet exists lmao. Do you think the red will chip when tightening or loosening? And what exactly does anodized mean?

process used to increase the thickness of the natural*oxide
*layer on the surface of metal parts.


It shouldn't chip from proper use. Almost all the aluminum on my rc cars is anodized and have only lost color on a direct hit with something, such as concrete. I would think you would be fine since they are made for that purpose

I see that happen on lugs from the factory all the time. Two piece lug nuts are garbage. The cap will expand over time from heating up and that happens..... Replace them all with gorilla nuts. One piece and that will never happen again.

Same lug problem here, switched them all out, and now have 1-piece lug nuts on all my Jeeps. Those red ones KoreaZJ posted are the tough Gorilla lug nuts at a good price.

GORILLA LUG NUTS i didnt know. I'll check them out sometime... Blue nuts or Black would be CooL..
