Lower engine knock.
In the past week I have noticed a mild sounding lower engine knock, I have 180,000 miles on my Jeep, I changed the oil this weekend, checked flex plate and flex plate bolts they were fine, there was no metal or anything when I changed the oil, it still runs fine with no power loss and the noise seems to go away when driving I only hear it at idle, I know that this is not normal but is it something I must worry greatly about, is it a bad wrist pin, piston slap, piston skirt? Im just trying to get an idea if it is worth the trouble fixing. Looking for any feed back from people having this same problem and the ultimate outcome. Thanks in advance.
I know you said the engine is knocking, but does it do it in neutral, park, and drive?
