losing coolant mystery?

g'day all
just recently got myself a 1996 grand cherokee limited 4.0lt amc motor & it needed a new radiator so had the system flushed a couple of new hoses fitted & new coolant added also the air conditioner had a couple of leaks so had these fixed as well & serviced.
now 9 days later & i have used almost a litre of distilled water to top up the rad/reservoir so i was wondering if the above motors suffer much with cracked heads there is no coolant in the oil & no sign of steam coming out of the exhaust. i have changed the spark plugs & they were the right colour & dry. now the only other thing it might be is a leaky heater core? but the carpet inside the jeep is dry there is no coolant smell in the cabin & no sign anywhere under the jeep of coolant on the concrete, it has me miffed!
anyone else had a simular problem it would help greatly if you could give me some ideas. cheers. joe.

forgot to add this jeep has an LPG system fitted some years ago(makes the engine run rough when its on so just been running on petrol & it goes great)
another thing that happens just after starting the engine there is a kinda gurgling sound from the passenger side of the cabin it goes after a couple of seconds, sounds like the heater filling up with coolant?

You might just have air working its way out of the cooling system after all of that work. It is common to have some air in the cooling system after replacing the radiator, hoses and flushing. You might have to bleed excess air by running the motor with the radiator cap removed.

One liter is not excessive. Don't worry unless it keeps up.

check the thermostat housing gasket. I thought mine was a water pump but it was just a $1.50 gasket. If you gotta pressure tester use that.
