Liftgate Supports/struts

I have a 00 GCL and I need new liftgate supports. When I called the dealer they said that the left one was more expensive than the right one. Why are these struts different? I found some on the internets for a much lower price but dont know if its a big deal if one is different than the other.

Get some from Pep-Boys. They where really good. I had to replace them on my truck last week, the gate would hit me in the head.

You bought both of the same one? My question was why the liftgate supports have different part number according to chrysler.

I replaced mine (on my 1994 GC) and I don't recall whether there was a "left" and "right". That might cause the part numbers to be different. I bought mine at autozone and the store guy looked up the numbers and gave me the correct ones. Sometimes there's a left & right. I think mine had a fitting thatfit either side (just roate the fitting to point left or right). When I'm not sure I prefer going to a store (like Autozone or Advance Autoparts) because they have great return policies if it's the wrong part.

get 'em at Advanced auto parts, the ones at autozone arent as reliable and I beleive they're more expensive. The ones from AAP are like 25-30 each I THINK

Try replacing your liftgate struts.

No seriously, why don't you start a new thread with this question?

Why you would post that question in this thread is beyond me, but yes. You have a Limited, which means get ready to drop a grand fixing your blend doors.

Or read up about it, some folks here have ghetto-rigged theirs to work.
