lift question. thinking of going bigger and now i am slightly confused about old lift
Im thinking of going bigger on my lift and moving to a IRO 4.5 lift. Was wondering what parts I could still use from my current lift. Should I still use them? Now comes the confused part. I purchased my jeep already lifted. I have always thought and have been told that I have a Teraflex lift. While looking at the Tera site today there is no mention of ever selling a 3.0 lift for ZJ's or any lift for that matter besides BB spacers. So my question is did/does Tera make a 3.0 for ZJ's? Does anyone have any insight?

Do you have coils or a puck on top of the coils ?
To figure out how much lift you have, measure from the center of the hub to the fender.

Did you install the lift, or someone else?

Do you have taller coils or do you have a big BB? How do you know you have the 3" lift, did you measure from hub to center to figure out what you actually netted ?
It's really impossible to tell what you have unless you find a tag on something or the coils are painted in some distinct color...something that could have been manufactured when the lift was put on may no longer be available.
Since its only 3" lift I'd be willing to bet that literally they just threw on the coils/big BB and maybe longer shocks and nothing else. If they did it right then it should have longer sway bar endlinks and longer/adjustable trackbars...
Regardless if you go to 4.5" you're still going to want longer endlinks and adjustable track bars (unless it already has them) but you don't have to do the track bar...
Adjustable Control arms are also highly recommended for 4.5"
Ryan he bought it already lifted...you're developing Hunterism.

I havent measured but I will now. They did coils shocks adjustable lower CA's and quick discos but oddly not a trackbar. I put on my adjustable one on.

If you've got adjustable lowers and such, I'd do this...
- Longer shocks
- Longer Coils
- Consider adjustable uppers too.
- Watch the angles on your swaybar links, you may want to go longer.
- Start thinking about SYE and Double Cardan DS, but do a T-Case drop at least.

I said start thinking about it. That's kind of a borderline height. Most I've known with ZJ's have had vibes at that height.

Yeck is a super advanced lift component.
SYE = slip yoke eliminator (Fixed Yoke) makes the drive shaft longer so it can handle the extra lift height.
You should do alot more searching though, all of this has been covered quite a bit.

I haven't known any ZJ's to have vibes at 4.5" of lift...if they have vibes, they probably don't have adjustable control arms. A t-case drop just isn't needed...ESPECIALLY in conjunction with a SYE. A SYE won't hurt, but a T-case drop just wastes lift...might as well only lift it 3.5" if you plan on dropping the t-case 1".
If you want to get the IRO 4.5" kit, that is great, but install it w/o the t-case drop first. Then only if you get vibes and adjusting the control arms doesn't fix it, should you even consider installing the drop.
