Left turn signal problem

A couple of weeks ago my left turn signal stopped working intermittently. Right works fine. I have to quickly turn on the hazards and turn them off, at the same time turning on the left turn in order for it to work. I bought a new flasher, but I really don't think that's the problem. Plus, I can't put my hand on the flasher location. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the turn signal flasher to me. I had the same symptoms and that turned out to be the problem. It's located in the fuse panel on the kick panel of the passenger side. To find it, just turn on your blinker and listen for it. If I recall correctly, there are basically two types, a squarish one and a round one. The squarish one was the one my '96 jgc needed. Probably easiest to simply yank it out when you get to the parts store.

My flasher relay unit is under the glovebox. Have to remove the glovebox innerds to reach it.
