Last core question. i promise.

Got the evap core and new accumulator install finished up.

Heat works fine, AC was warm. Tried charging it, and after 2 or 3 cans its still warms.

Anything i need to do differently? Anything i need to do with the accumulator?

Derek

Sure that your compressor and/or compressor clutch are good? I would have a shop try to pull a vacuum to see if it will hold. If not, then something is still leaking. Could be the seals at the compressor.

You did evacuate the system, didn't you? System should take 28oz from a vacuum.
There is nothing specific you have to do with the accumulator. Is it possible that you didn't hook up a blend door properly, or left a vac line or wire connection off. When you first start & the engine is still cold, will the AC blow cold then, if so, but blows warm when the engine is hot, that would be indicative of a blend door not working properly. You could always pinch off a heater hose to test, also.

You need a pump to evacuate. Harbor Freight has cheap ones ($10-15) that use shop air.

You need to add PAG100 oil to the new accumulator and evaporator too. I know the accumulator takes 4 ozs.

Is the compressor clutch engaging?

Also, the condensor needs air moving over it to make cold air.

Yes.

No, j/k. But you should add around 6 ozs of oil to the system so the compressor will be lubed properly. Whenever you replace an AC component, you need to add the correct amount of oil to system for that component. The amounts are listed in the FSM.

You will need to evacuate the system for sure. It's full of air and moisture right now.

Thanks for the help.

I have to be a pain again and ask for more info about which oil, how much, and where to put it.

I don't have an FSM, I just used my Haynes for everything. Apparently Haynes wont cover this since its "dangerous"
