KOR radiator support done + surprise
I just finished installing my KOR radiator support. Installation was a breeze. Here's the surprise. My Westin Safari bar did not get in the way at all, sans one minor detail. I wasn't too concerned about ditching the bar. But I didn't want to have to relocated my Hellas. Now whenever I head for the trails, I'll just take out two of the bolts holding the bar to it's bracket, unplug the light harnesses and I'll be ready to go. So now you know (if you cared in the first place), yes you can use a Westin Safari bar with KOR rad support. Here are a few pics.
Here you can see how the shackles must either go in front of or behind the bar mounts. I put them over the mounts so they wouldn't bang around as much. Also, this is the only safe way to use them to recover. ![]() Here's another view of how they cleared each other. ![]() In this pic you can see that I just trimmed one vertical section of the fascia for the shackle to move freely. ![]() Here it is all buttoned up. Wheeee! Gotta get that skid plate back on there tonight. ![]()

Thats going to be a PITA to remove that every time. Does it really get in the way of straps?

I wouldn't have to remove it every time I guess. You'd still be able to recover with the bar on there. But it might get in the way with certain angles. A straight pull would be no problem. As would a recovery from either side. Besides, it's just two bolts for the bar and two for the lights. Now that I think about it, I don't really see it getting in the way at all.

It's about $125 total with the optional powdercoating of $9 plus two shackles. It comes with everything you need.

Dang it, you beat me. I still have mine in the garage, just haven't found time to install it.
Steve, shoot Kolak an e-mail and get a quote. I got mine for a pretty good price.

I contacted Kolak about mine as well. Since Kevin is apparently the only one running his shop at this point, I know he's really backed up. They had it shipped to me within a few days. I've had mine for a couple weeks and this was the first day I had free to do the install. It took me right at 3 hours from start to finish. Part of that was removing and reinstalling the Safari bar brackets. Without that, I'd say 2 hours should get it done no problem. It's infinitely beefier than that stamped stock support. I'm very impressed with all of Kevin's products. Top notch stuff.

The support itself is $99. But I figured for the extra $25, I'd be better off getting the thing powdercoated and getting the shackles through him as well. Plus it's always good to support such a great vendor!

I guess the first time I'll be able to try them out is in Attica. Now I've just got to figure out what this intermentant squeaking/grinding is coming from the rear driver's side wheel. I'm really hoping it's not the bearings, and just the drum brakes.
