My buddy Aron was with me and he has no idea how I kept the wheels on the ground... to be honist neither do I. I wish I had video of it or something. It was downright amazing. We were stuck and I aked him to get out and push. He said "Blaine I can't my door wont open becuase the snow is up against my window." So he had to climb up into the seat with me and out. The whole time we were moving around the Jeep was swaing like it was going to go all the way over. I soon as Aron got out to push I somehow got traction and my forward momentum let me go forward and not over. It was scary, fun and exciting all at the same time. Hopefully I'll never get that close again! __________________ 2007 VW GTI |

Retired back to Bowties Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: North Pole, Alaska Posts: 7,352 | Had an off-road newbie riding shotgun, and both of my boys in the backseat. We were climbing on a rock hill, with the driver's side a bit lower than the passengers. It felt fine, we were about to turn to head straight down the hill, as we had been traveling straight across, (not up or down) it. Right as I started to turn the wheel my right rear tire found a rock that I didn't see when driving over it. It raised my passenger side up enough to scare me pretty bad. I called for backup and the passengers from another Jeep that was off-roading with us came up and helped us. At first we just opened the passenger side doors as I attempted to come off the rock. Well, the moment I let off the brake the right rear had come up high enough to cause the right front to leave the ground. Immediately the helpers jumped on the passenger door sills and brought Michelle back to being somewhat balanced. With them still hanging off my roof rack, I slowly turned down the hill to safety. I am much more cautious now about traveling on a side hill. ![]() __________________ Woody 1985 1 ton Suburban, Detroit diesel, 36" tires and no lift. No sense putting a lift on when it isn't needed yet. |

Registered User | Something I have learned is that you always (when possible) steer into the direction that your vehicle is tipping towards. It is kinda like catching your balance. I have used that off-roading, on large riding lawn mowers and driving my 15 yd. plow truck off the road. A broken steering link or spring is cheaper than a rolled vehicle. __________________ 2004-WJ 4.0, Loredo Kevin's 2.5" BB 265/75R16 Goodyear AT/S Pro-Comp ES3000 shocks Westin Safari-Bar Maxtel 6" Off-Road lights 360? of Tint Thule Roof Rack Do my new seat covers count?! |

I was driving by the mall (I worked there ) and someone pulled right out infront of me. I hit the brakes, downshifted and did a cool, James Bond like manuver around them(I was pretty proud of myself). I was pretty impressed that I didn't roll it and that the XJ handled that well in such a tight spot.On my way back to work, I saw only the left side tires had left skid marks... I still dont know if I was on two wheels or what, but thats as close as I have come to rolling __________________ -Adam His: 2000 WJ, 2.5" BB, mx-6 shocks, Rancho 5000 Steering Stabilizer, 245/75/16 MTRs, 9005 fog upgrade Hers: 03 KJ, 5-speed, 245/70/16 Cooper ATRs |

Most likly there was just a lot more weight on the left wheels leaving them to make the skid marks... __________________ 2007 VW GTI | |
