Key fob

I recently dropped my key fob and it broke open and after re-assembling it it doesn't work. I was wondering if I can get a new fob and just sync it to my jeep or something

Pretty sure if its a 96-98 you need a dealership to sync it, and if it's a 93-95 you can do it yourself with help from youtube.

I have the two button, do you think dropping it and it falling apart would un-sync it? Or is it just broke?
