So we drove the 4-1/2 hours each way to Cleveland and took a look at her. 81k miles, pretty clean, no real rust or anything. The only bad parts I could see were that the chrome wheels all had flaking on them (anyone ever had wheels re-chromed?), and it needs a good cleaning to the leather and carpets.
So this 60th Anniversary was Silver with 2-tone black/light grey interior. It has white face gauges, 17" chrome 5 spoke wheels and some 60th Anniversary badges. The interior in 2-tone looks sweet, light colored seats with a dark floor. I found the window sticker and it said $38.925 when new, ouch. But I also found reciepts showing brakes all done last year, diff. fluid R and R'ed, watertpump, all spark plugs replaced, power steering hoses replaced, PCV done and a whole mess of other stuff I don't remember. No leaks that I could see underneath, no strange engine noises and the tire aren't to bad either. Even had remote start. There we no floor mats, so I asked if she actually had them or not, "Oh yeah, I actually left them at the detail shop to be shampoo'ed", ha ha ha ha. This The girl that owned it was about 30 and didn't know squat about cars and everytime a shop would tell to have something replaced, she;d pay for them to do it, good for me, vbad for her.
So I ether need to re-chrome the wheels ro replaced them. The only other issue was that the radio had no sound but it looked like it was playing (radio stations showed up, CD seemed to be palying)? I checked the radio fuse just to see, but the fact it had power going to it meant that should be OK, any idea what that could be? I told her to get it fixe before we come to pick-up the car.
Looks like a sweet deal, We'll pick her up next week when she hasd the title and all. Then I'll get pics for y'all. What'cha think?
