just did transmission swap
I successfully swapped my transmission with one from a wrecking yard recently. My jeep has just over 200k on it, this transmission supposedly has 96k on it. Now the only problem is the 1st to 2nd shift slips occasionally causing the whole car to feel like it's surging as we go from 2nd back to first and then back to second. Sometimes it shifts fine, especially if I let up on the gas during the shift, but if I'm barely on the throttle or going slowly, it seems to struggle.
Did I get a bad transmission, or is there something I should be adjusting - like the bands or kickdown cable or something? Seems to shift just fine through all other gears. This is the first time I've done anything this big, but everything was done according to the Haynes manual. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
