junk-yard special

Bought a 1993 GC yesturday . I saved this one from being raped , I found it a the local pick-n-pull . It just arrived that morning and was backed into a corner surrounded by other cars . I`d just been through the yard too , 1 96 there that was totally limbed .

I got the "guy", cause the public wasn`t allowed in that area , to bring me over for a look . SOB , it had 65000 miles , or , 109990 KM`s (charity donation from a elderly lady). The interior , mint leather , carpet , brand new , never smoked in , and still has that new car smell . Outside and under the hood was also like new , except it wasn`t washed in a while , but no damages at all , just some minor rust underneath on both frt doors.

I`ve been for a ride , everything was perfect , shifts nice and smooth , goes ok for a 4.0 and the ride was great . One drawback was the AWD but it works fine (shifts high/low and low/high easily and doesn`t bind when hot . No leaks to be found , no clunks over rough dirt roads , but I haven`t had it on the pavement yet , I pick it up this morning .

As for servicing , I don`t think there going to be much to do , honestly , the diff`s both have been serviced(silicone isn`t from stock as sloppy as this is , too, much , lol)the engine has new wires and appears a new cap , I`ll have to look of course , the frt end checked out on initial inspection sawing the wheel , nothing loose at all . All fluids were very clean . How the hell did this thing end up here is all I can think at this point , even the tires a very good Michelin`s

I got it for $1200 and because of the K and condition , in these parts , a hell of a deal , I got lucky on this one . It` will be home and washed up by this afternoon , I`ll add some pics to the bucket when it`s all cleaned up and update , but have added a few pics from the boneyard when viewing (starts pg 3), kinda dirty . It`s in much better condition in and out than mine , shame it`s a 4.0 , but , I`ll pep it up a little I`m sure

yeah , havin a hard time sellin it on the wife though , trying to get her out of a payment a sell her car . We don`t need "another" vehicle , but this I couldn`t pass on . The pics do little justice !

So , it could get flipped for some extra coin , I know I can double/tripple my money on this thing , it`s just sooo clean , I might not let it go , and start using as a DD and build my 95 stricly off-road

Got some new pics from today`s little clean up after I got it home , check em out and tell what you think of this deal . http://s347.photobucket.com/albums/p...nd%20Cherokee/

I`ve been driving in it and all I can say is wow , just like new . Smooth , no vibs , no noises , 1 minorish issue that may come up in a new thread , we`ll see , but , it`s in better shape than my Orvis by far .

Super nice find... that engine looks spotless...
Never mind what the wife says. We are never right in their eyes anyway.

I wish , but the 42re shifts wonderfully , I`ll maintain it well . The 249 still works great too , just as good as my rebuilt case

Only oil leak is from the basepan , something screwed into the side of it . I haven`t really looked into it , but caught it when taking the pics
