Jeep Problems Trans/TPS Help!

Hi all!
So I'm having some issues with my jeep . About a few years ago I started to notice the trans shifting a little harder. Not a big clunk, but more noticeable than usual and its usually on the 1-2 shift. Its smoother when I press the gas harder. But the other day i went over a muddy patch of grass onto the road, and as I got to the pavement it almost wouldn't shift. I heard a slight grinding noise but couldn't tell if it was related. When i let off the gas and pressed back on it shifted, but it almost felt as if it would stall. I drove it for about 3 miles and no other problems. The fluid is a tad low, but looks clean and pink. Also it seems to not be accelerating as fast as it used to and the mpg dropped from 17-18 to 16.3 in a bout a year. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on whats going on. I was thinking either the Tps or a speed sensor, or perhaps a trans cable adjustment. I'm going to scan it as soon as I get my obd2 back , but I don't want to throw parts at it.
thanks for reading!
