Jeep just turned off

I have a 94 I6 4.0 ZJ and I was driving along and my RPM gauge went to 0 and i lost power steering and breaks. Naturally, I assumed my car had turned off so I pulled over and stopped (with some effort) and sure enough the Jeep had just turned off. This is the second time it has done this. Would a tune up help or is it something worse?

A tune-up is not your problem. A coil....maybe but first: your conditions are exactly what happened to me when my fuel pump died. When you turn the ignition to Start, does the starter motor run as it should? When you turn the ignition to On can you hear a hum from the gas tank? You need the window open or someone to listen for it. If you hear the fuel pump hum, then the next thing to do would be to check for spark.
