are jeep and dodge engines exactly the same?

yes, im a noobie. i just bought my 94 grand cherokee with a bad motor in it. i was wondering if the dodge truck engine is the exact same. im talking about the 5.2 engine. if its not the same, is it something that i could make work fairly easy.

the core is the same, but things such as manifolds will be different, along with some accessories, if you just use the longblock from the dodge and put everything else jeep on it, it will work great

yes you could even get a short block and even switch the heads over, they are the same

part number for a short block for a 94 dodge and jeep 5.2 is 4713602

the intake manifolds are NOT different, both use the keg style of intake manifold.
