Jeep Badges
Hey guys, I have a 02 black wj. now like most of them, the badges are pretty worn and are peeling. How faded will it be if I take them off and not replace them. Or are there stickers that I can buy that cover up the peeling and fading? I was just seeing if anyone else tried to fix this problem also. Thanks in advance guys.

Mine wern't bad, even it being a 99'. But, it is the grey so it was somewhat hard to see where it was faded. If you have a darker color, you will easily tell where the badges were. With mine, I took them off and then polished the spots really, really good.
I took off all my badges, and a guy at my old job who did body work for ~20 years could only find where one badge used to be Some will ague that you will always be able to see the outline, but I challenge them to look at mine ![]() |

I'm in the same boat, I think I might order some from the stearlership in the next couple weeks. But it really depends on how clean you kept your Jeep for the fading. Obviously if it was kept in the garage and washed/waxed regularly it will be a lot less faded. And as far as I know you can't get a covering, you have to replace the badge itself. They aren't to hard to replace, a little time with a hairdryer and they should peel right off.

That would look pretty cool. Especially if your cladding is the same color. Just make sure to get in there good with some masking tape and newspaper.

Are dub-jay badges made differently? I've never seen a ZJ with any fading/peeling problems, and they're up to 10 yrs older than you guys!

You could always buy new ones and paint them while they are off the Jeep. I think they are. On my badges it's almost like the chrome plating is coming off.
