Why not build the ZJ w/ the 5.2 in it? What's the vested interest in the 4.0 body?

Ithink he just has the motor not the jeep.

Best thing to do is sell the jeep and get a v8 version with bad motor on it.

To swap from i6 to v8 you'll need a new wiring harness, motor mounts, though you should get new ones anyway, and a whole buncha other stuff.

You can do it. Is it worth it?

If at first you don't succeed, use more speed.

I have a 4.0 jeep, and I don't need another jeep, I just want to put the 5.2 in it, the motor has alot done to it, and I can make alot more power out of the 5.2 then the 4.0 without spending alot

Yes you do need another Jeep. It's not nearly as simple as dropping the engine and transmission in. Just off the top of my head, you'll need the front springs, fuel lines, wiring harness, engine mounts, radiator, fan, fan shroud, transmission lines, every sensor for the V8, starter, all of the engine accessories including the alternator and power steering pump as well as the power steering lines, and plenty of other tiny crap that will hang up your project every other hour you work on it without a donor vehicle.

honestly with the work and money it would take to swap it youd be better off doing what the OP said and finding a blown up 5.2 and swapping in your motor

Edit: if you do the swap your also stuck with the 35 and 3:55s

You drive a tj, we drive a zj. We have more power while you get more shower. We get the v8 while you get there too late. You have 2 doors well, we have 2 more. Ours costs a grand while yours has a price we cant stand.

Oh man, I didn't even think about having the D35 and 3.55 gears for the V8. This swap brings the suck!
